Dubai: Warts, also known as verrucas vulgaris, are caused by infection with the human papillomavirus.
Doctors often recommend that warts are frozen with liquid nitrogen – a treatment sometimes referred to as cryotherapy. However, natural alternatives do exist.

Common Warts Removal Treatment: I have read that rubbing the inside of a banana skin onto a wart each night may help get rid of it. I don’t know anyone who has tried this method, but I’m thrilled to accept that it might work.

However, you might be interested to know of a recent study, in which conventional treatment for warts (cryotherapy) was pitted against a lower-tech and more economical remedy that involved treating warts by covering them with duct tape.

In this study, individuals receiving cryotherapy had treatments every two or three weeks for up to six treatments. Those using duct tape were instructed to apply the tape over the affected area for up to two months. The duct tape was changed every six days.

Before renewing the tape, individuals were asked to soak the warts in warm water and then rub them with a pumice stone or emery board.

At the end of the study, 60 percent of those having cryotherapy were cured of their warts, compared to 85 percent of those using duct tape. You might like to give this DIY remedy for warts a go.

I suggest you also use the preparation of Chelidonium majus (Greater Celandine) – a traditional topical remedy for the treatment of warts.

Apply a tincture of this herb (available in health food stores) to the warts after you abrade them each time you change the duct tape. dailymail
