An Australian chef and food writer has revealed his nifty trick to get the perfect fried egg every time. According to Good Food’s Richard Cornish all you need to do is to use a small piece of baking paper while cooking.
‘Line the frying pan with a square of baking paper and place the pan over medium heat,’ he wrote for the publication. ‘When hot, add a small pat of butter or a little olive oil to the paper and crack the eggs directly onto the paper. Cover with a lid.’
When the egg is done he suggested using an egg flip to slide the egg off. Although this won’t create crisp edges it will successfully cook the perfect egg and also means the pan will only need a rinse with hot water to clean it.
